Fresh out of college, you’ve landed a job as a Media Planner. Congratulations!

You’re most likely giddy, and possibly pretty much psyched that you’re in a fast-paced, dynamic field in Corporate Manila. It’s not every day that one lands a job in the industry that gives the business sector its wings: Advertising. Let’s face it, without Advertising, a business won’t get the viral exposure that it needs as rocket fuel to get its brands out there and into the consumer’s consciousness. And let’s face it: to the Ad Industry insider, it does come with a certain touch of glam.

While some may see it as just another job, being in the Ad Industry does have its perks: the possibility of meeting endorsers (ehem, stars, ehem), the events, and the possibility of winning awards. And for the workaholics, a major draw would be the adrenaline rush that comes with the drive to beat a project’s deadline.

As an industry newbie, however, you’re probably wondering what “Media Planning” is. We’re here to help.
